Public Health Service (PHS) Funded Research

Research sponsored by the PHS that has been identified as having a managed financial conflict of interest is required to have the management plan monitored for ongoing compliance. PHS funding agencies include but are not limited to the following:

• Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
• Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR)
• Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
• Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
• Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
• Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)
• Indian Health Service (IHS)
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

The COIR Office may also choose to randomly select management plans to audit for compliance, or monitor for cause.
